ProfileThe Federal Government Institution "Center for Testing and Certification - St.Petersburg" (Test - St.Petersburg) carries out powers of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rostehregulirovanie) in St.Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast. Test - St.Petersburg was established as the St.Petersburg Calibration Agency for Trade Measures and Weights on 23rd September, 1900 under the initiative of the great Russian scientist Dmitry Ivanovich Mendeleev. It was the first in a network of regional agencies for provision of unit traceability in Russia. Test - St.Petersburg renders government services to the product developers, manufacturers, and sellers in the fields of unit traceability, standardisation, conformity assessment, accreditation and testing. It renders information, methodical and consulting services aimed at increasing competitiveness and investment attractiveness of regional business and introducing the up-to-date quality management techniques. It coordinates activities related to safety, quality and competitiveness of product and services in Northwest Russia. Test - St.Petersburg has tree branches in Leningrad Oblast, in towns : Gatchina, Volkhov and Vyborg. Today, Test - St.Petersburg, basing on domestic and foreign experience, carries out a wide spectrum of measurements, testing, development and application of quality techniques. Test - St.Petersburg is known in Russia and abroad as the largest Centre of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology. The up-to-date testing and calibration facilities, high qualification and skills of personnel allow Test - St.Petersburg to render services in metrology, standardisation and testing. Since 1996 it operates the ISO 9001:2008 quality management system registered with the Swiss Association for Quality and Management Systems (SQS). |
